Rustic Boxes

When scraps of old barnwood used in the shop began to pile up, Troy knew he had to find a use for them.  From these scraps, horseshoe-legged boxes were born.

The corners of the boxes are finger jointed and roughed up and stained.  The finger joints give strength to the boxes while the combination of finger joints and roughing and staining give the boxes and old-fashioned look.  Reclaimed horseshoes are bent and used for the legs. The top is made of nicely finished hardwood, spline and mitred for added strength.  Finally, the insides are flocked to give a nice velvet texture.

Troy has added drawers with carved leather fronts to some boxes which adds a nice western flare.
